About Binaural beats

To understand anything non-physical, one needs a certain level of creativity and imagination, as everything has a frequency

What are Binaural Beats?

A binaural beat is an illusion created by the brain when you listen to two tones with slightly different frequencies at the same time. Lower frequencies are known as binaural beats. They are recommended by many to improve your brain’s motor functions and help with clarity and focus. Binaural beats between 1 and 30 Hz and are alleged to create the same brainwave pattern that one would experience during meditation.

How do frequencies affect the brain

Your brain interprets the two tones as a beat of its own. The two tones align with your brain waves to produce a beat with a different frequency. This frequency is the difference in hertz (Hz) between the frequencies of the two tones.  As an example, if you are listening to a 200 Hz tone with your left ear and a 210 Hz tone with your right ear, you would be hearing a 10 Hz tone between the two frequencies.

So what are the benefits of Binaural Beats?

Binaural beats are claimed to induce the same mental state associated with a meditation practice, but much more quickly. In effect, binaural beats are said to: reduce anxiety, increase focus and concentration, increase relaxation, increase positive moods, promote creativity, lower stress levels and help manage pain.

How do I use Binaural Beats?

All you need to experiment with binaural beats is a binaural beat audio and a pair of headphones. Find a quiet and comfortable place where you can sit or lie down free of distractions. Simply listen to the binaural beat audio of choice once a day via your headphones, this will ensure that the rhythm is entrained throughout the brain. You can experiment with the length of time you listen to the binaural beats and see what works best for you, albeit it usually takes roughly 3 minutes for the track to take effect, that does however depend on the individual as it can be quicker. For example, if you’re experiencing high levels of anxiety or stress, you may want to listen to the audio for longer than usual, however remember that you must use headphones for binaural beats to work.

Are there any side effects to listening to Binaural Beats?

There are no known side effects to listening to binaural beats, but you’ll want to make sure that the sound level coming through your headphones isn’t set too high.

What are Binaural Beats within relation to the tracks?

Epsilon Waves (0.1-0.5 Hz): Epsilon waves have been found in extremely deep states of meditation. They are connected with a feeling of complete bliss and compassion. If a meditator reaches the epsilon brain wave state of mind one can experience extreme spiritual and personal insight and inspiration.

Delta Waves (0.5-4 Hz): Are associated with dreamless sleep, deep meditation, healing, recovery and rest. The Delta frequency can help promote, deep sleep, pain relief, healing and access to the unconscious mind.

Theta Waves (4-8 Hz): Are associated with the brain waves that are in relation to dreaming, spatial navigation, intuition, meditation, memory formation, alertness, creativity, subconscious thinking and power naps. The Theta frequency can help promote, deep relaxation, meditation and creativity.

Alpha Waves (8-12 Hz): Are associated with the quiet resting state of the conscious brain. The Alpha frequency can help promote, relaxation, accelerated learning, positive thinking and stress reduction.

Beta Waves (12-30 Hz): Are associated with a state of mental, intellectual activity and outwardly focused concentration. The Beta frequency can help promote focused attention, concentration, problem solving, increased energy and analytical thinking.

Gamma Waves (30 – 100 Hz): Are associated with high levels of thought and focus. Some researchers believe that gamma waves are involved in the integration of thought processes by linking information from different parts of the brain. The Gamma frequency can help promote, active consciousness, self-awareness, memory recall, transcendental states and spirituality.
